Positions

We are always looking for talented, dedicated and enthusiastic researchers to join our lab. While there are no formal advertisements right now, I am happy to consider applications at any time for the following positions. (Please indicate in the email which position you are inquiring about)

1) Postdoc: I will be looking to hire a postdoc within the next 12 months and will advertise for the position at that time. However, if you are interested in looking for a new job or will be completing your PhD soon, then send me an email (and CV) to

positions@drmichaelbutterworth.com

I will be happy to receive any serious applications from scientists with appropriate skills and interests.

2) Work/study positions: Currently filled (Please check back again before the next semester to see if we will be advertising a new position).

3) Graduate students: I am happy to have students rotate through the lab to see if they are interested in the work we do. As I am currently graduate faculty of the Cell Biology and Molecular Physiology program, I can only accept students who are part of this program. Please contact me if you are interested in visiting the lab, or would like to know more about a lab rotation.

4) Undergraduate student researchers and volunteers: I have participated in 2 undergraduate student research programs, the SURP program at Pitt (SURP link), and the American Physiological Society (APS) summer undergraduate research fellowship program (APS link) over the last 3 years. If I have the time, I am happy to accept undergraduate students working in the lab over the summer through any organised program. Please contact me if this is of interest to you, and I can work with you or direct you to the appropriate application material.
